[Castle] Veritas - Just to Describe It My Way

This is not a review, it’s a compilation of feelings. Somewhere down the road I got lost in thoughts and I felt the urge to write it down. I could use many quotes from the series in this text, believe me a bunch of them crossed my mind, but I chose not to extend it (I know myself – it’ll be turned into a book LOL). In the end there’s a picture to summarize everything Kate Beckett was feeling. Hope you like it!

PS: Sorry but I felt the need to write in English later maybe I’ll translate it.

After I watched "Veritas", I started wondering how could something so fictional be so perfect? How it makes you cry and feels every single movement and wish like it was your own. As if you were also part of the story or the character on the scene. There’s no logical explanation. It suits you because it’s capable of expose something you can identify in your own life.

Some will say “Nonsense!”, others “Dah! It’s fictional! There’s no such thing in real life.” And maybe “Because you want to believe in an illusion. That’s why.”

Yes, always the logical answer. But my mind refuses to treat Castle as a simple tv show. It’s entertainment for sure, a procedural with cases, deaths, guns and laughs. Above all this, Castle is a love story. The one we all dream about. Then you’ll say there’s not one man as Rick Castle in real life. I agree but there are versions of them as there are many Kate Beckett’s spread in the world.

"Veritas" showed what love stories are about, beating the odds. The path followed by our beloved couple wasn’t easy. Both had issues to be resolved, they still do. But along the way, life decided to challenge them. Who would think that a police detective with her “always by the book” image could fall for a womanizer mystery writer? It‘s an exquisite match. But it worked, they stood together through tick and thin to discover and become who they are now.

More than the search for the truth and closure for a cold case murder, "Veritas" was the confirmation of Castle and Beckett ‘s love because only by loving someone so unconditionally they were able to risk it all to find what they were looking for. It was a love decision to accept the need to close and turn this page in Kate’s life who brought Castle into this investigation project with her. Together, they analyzed and theorized about a way to prove Senator Bracken’s guilty. Unfortunately, life chose to play with them one more time and got Beckett in danger, from the person in law to a fugitive and he was there, to support and help her. Not as her knight in shining armor but as the man with his flaws but also with a heart that belongs to her and her alone.

The key to solve her mom’s murder was there all along, right in front of her eyes. So, you could have asked me why did she take so long to realize it?

Because she needed first to accept and understand what this all meant to her. She was lost for a long time. Everything seemed wrong but in fact, Kate had to face herself, open up to the world and decided to break her walls so she could see again. She was blind to love and some may add to the art of living – the Carpe Diem philosophy. Her work was the most important thing she had. Castle came into her life to shake it up, to change her perspective from black and white, put some color. And one step at a time, he got her attention, then her admiration, friendship until she stumbled again. She did a detour when the real feeling hit her, paralyzed by fear. She had to accept his love and her own feelings for Castle before be ready to face once and for all the biggest case of her life.

And she did it. Then she was able to bring justice the way she’d wanted for a long time. After that arrest, we saw a man proudly observing the woman he loves. Likewise, we also saw a woman accomplish her goal allowing herself to finally breath again, to be set free from the ghost of her past. In their eyes, a truly demonstration of love. And with that I rest my case.

"Vincit Omnia Veritas"  >>>> Truth conquers all.

That’s a correct saying but in Beckett’s case it was LOVE

#Always.

Enfim... hahahah adorei o texto :')
Beijo!
